WATCH OUT MIAMI, I'M COMING HOME!

MASS HISPANIC SAVES THE DAY!

As quickly as my endeavors to Milwaukee began, I feel they ended.

It’s truly amazing how a person’s life can change in seconds.

One May afternoon, as I was walking home from work, I received a call from my best friend, which at the time lived in Houston, telling me she heard about a company in Miami that was hiring!

She had interviewed there, and was going to be moving in the next week, back home to be with her family.

I was jealous. I’m not going to lie.

I told her I would give her my resume so she could pass along to the creative department and see if MAYBE there was a job for me too…

Well, there was.

A week or two later my phone rings.

“Stephanie, My name is XXX, I am calling from Mass Hispanic, Cristy gave us your resume. You fit the profile of the person we are looking to hire. We need someone to start as early as next week. Can you come in? When can you start?”

….

I freeze. My head starts spinning. I have no answer but “yes, sure!”

I don’t know why I answered yes, without speaking to my live in boyfriend first, now fiancé… but I accepted and my new adventure began.

I drove down to Miami the following week. With the cat. And the boyfriend.

Currently I work at Mass Hispanic. It’s going to be 2 years in a couple of weeks and I must admit this has been one hell of a ride.

Who even knew “Shopper Marketing” was a type of adv/marketing!

I have learned so much!!

I now know how to create retailer programs that are so engaging to consumers at a shopper level… I could sell Ice to an Eskimo!

(before it was just a saying! Now it’s REALLY true!)

I have amazing clients :

Kimberly-Clark (Kleenex, Kotex, Scott Brand, Huggies), Clorox, Wrigley’s Gum, Bush Beans, Pine-Sol, Hidden Valley Ranch, Ragu, Knorr, Glad and so many more!!!

It’s a lot of work, that requires MUCH attention to detail. But I’m glad I’m the person they chose to do the job.

OMG I'm moving to WISCONSIN!

"Wisconsin!??!! What's in Wisconsin??!!" My mom yelled as I shared with her the news I would be leaving the city I always called home.

It was Feb of 2009, and I needed a change. I didn't know what exactly, so I began applying to random job postings on TalentZoo.

One company, RedBrownKlé (RBK) called me back immediately after receiving my resume and offered me an opportunity to fly out and meet the partners of the small, Midwestern firm.

The Midwest! How exciting! I had never been to Milwaukee before! So, I did what every girl in her 20’s does: I googled it!

Results: Wisconsinites are known as “cheese heads” and state is well known for their beer!

IT’S A DREAM COME TRUE!!!

Packed my bags, went in for an interview, got the job and moved to the Midwest during the end of winter.

RBK gave me the opportunity to start the Hispanic department, and be the Hispanic Department.

We only had one other "competitor" in the city, and that wa s aocmpany by the name of Abrazo Advertising.
They wanted to differ than them and provide a style of work for the market was fresh and innovative.

They appreciated that I came from a LARGE city where more than 1 type of Spanish was spoken, and really loved my outlook on life and the Hispanic Culture.

I brought a lot to the table. And I was so happy I had the chance to open their eyes with multiple Hispanic insights they had no idea even existed.

I spent about a year and a half there.

I’m not going to lie. I loved the people. The city. The difference in culture.

It’s in Wisconsin where I became an adult.

I was more grounded. Comfortable in my own skin.

But life took another turn in May 2010 with just one phone call.

My life is always FULL of surprises!

Who am I ?

In my opinion it's really hard to judge someone based solely on their resume. It doesn't really say who the person is or what they are capable of ... there's just not ENOUGH SPACE!

My Brief Months at Zubi Advertising

Even though my time at Zubi was brief (a short 8 months!!), I must admit I really enjoyed working there. Zubi offers the best of all worlds. A fast paced environment, with the perfect blend of creative dynamic, with the strategy to back it all up.

The company's fast-paced environment taught me to be more organized and to be patient and understanding. All the work produced during those 8 short, yet VERY LONG months prove that award-winning work can ALWAYS be produced on tight deadlines!

The accounts I worked on while I was there were: Winn-Dixie, Progressive Insurance, Olive Garden, Lincoln-Mercury, and Glade.

My AccentMarketing Days

AccentMarketing. What a great time! Between 2003 and 2009 I had the priveledge of working with a wonderful group of people. They taught me everything I know!!! well, not everything...

They were my mentors, by inspiration, but most importantly they became life long friends.

I began my advertising adventures on the account side, working on one of the largest accounts in the company. There, the account team noticed from the get-go that I was a little too "crazy" for the account side. Luckily the Creative Director saw my passion and enthusiasm and gave me the opportunity to switch over to the other side and show off some my skills.
